I was never able to have a dog growing up but it was always on my Santa list! When I moved out of my parents me and my partner got our first dog, a female English springer spaniel called Jaffa. From the day we got her she has been the centre of our world and just a pure pleasure to train and live with, and I’m always trying to find new a fun things for us to do together.
Unfortunately when we moved house we soon realised Jaffa had separation anxiety and so we came to Susan for help. Through time and patience Jaffa has gone from following us room to room, to staying alone up to 2 hours (still a working progress). We now have a new addition to the family who has contributed to Jaffa’s improvement; a 6 month old male cockapoo called Jacob who is so different to Jaffa but equally amazing.
All of the research and training that I’ve gone through with Jaffa has at least given me something to be passionate about. I recently started a canine behaviour course with the ISCP (international school of canine psychology and behaviour) and will be looking into other courses to contribute to my learning.
