Focus and Engagment Class

Tail Talk are pleased to provide you with the opportunity to take your personal training journey even further with our Focus and Engagement class. This class compliments all the other training you have done with your dog, concentrating on helping to improve your dog’s focus and engagement with you.
This fun-filled 4-week course uses a variety of tasks and games to help your dog with their focus and engagement, while also enhancing the connection and bond you have with your dog. This is an hour-long evening class, and we aim to make the activities you will be doing together enjoyable for you both.
If your dog likes a toy reinforcement, please bring one to class with you. They can also try using some of ours over the weeks too. We will show you how to use toys the right way and how amazing they can be when used as a method for reinforcement during training.
Your instructor for this class will be the very experienced Susan Berryman.
What You Will Learn:
- How to capture and grow your dog’s focus and engagement together as a team.
- Techniques on how to improve your handling and timing skills. Susan will observe you and provide personalised help and advice to each individual on the course.
- Techniques and methods for using different reinforcers to increase your dog’s motivation to train.
This is an outdoor class and so there will be plenty of space for each dog. Class numbers are small, to ensure the needs of all dogs are individually catered for. One-to-one time is provided during activities.
- Places limited to 4 dogs maximum – booking is essential.
- Dogs aged 18 months and over are welcome.
- Four week practical course.
- 1:1 support throughout.
All dogs need to be comfortable in a public outdoor environment and good around dogs and people.
