About Us
Tail Talk is based in the Highlands of Scotland and provides dog training services in Nairn and the surrounding area. Our aim has always been to provide life-long dog training specifically tailored to families and their companion dog(s). We believe training is for life and not solely for puppies, which is why we offer group training and 1:1 services for dogs of all ages. We can provide you with the support you need, when you need it.
We aspire to show you how rewarding it can be to have a relationship with your dog built on trust and understanding, while having a whole load of fun and rewarding experiences together along the way. Our goal is to build happy, confident relationships between people and their dogs. We believe in using positive reinforcement and only promote the use of kind, reward-based methods, in line with up-to-date research and best practice.
Susan Berryman
Susan established Tail Talk to provide a service she felt was missing in the Nairn area; that of life-long learning for both the dog and their owner. This ethos of life-long learning has resulted in having clients who want to continue their dog’s training with Tail Talk year after year. The small groups and friendly, fun atmosphere found both in the classes and training walks have enabled returning clients to get to know one another as well as Susan and Lorna. This has resulted in the creation of the Tail Talk Community, where like-minded dog lovers can come together to offer support when needed and have a lot of laughs too.

Lorna Templeton
Lorna Templeton met Susan when she brought her dog, Sam, to a Tail Talk puppy class, and she never left! She initially began helping at classes and then shadowing Susan’s 1:1 sessions. Lorna formally joined Tail Talk in 2018 and has gained lots of practical skills from Susan since then. She has gone on to study and continue her own professional development, becoming a qualified instructor with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT).
