1:1 Training Support
Package Cost - £180
Our 1:1 Training Support package is customised to both your dog’s personality and individual needs. We will give you the tools and information you need to help your dog on its training journey with you. Our aim is to boost the bond you have with your dog by creating clear communication and mutual understanding. We will teach you to read your dog’s body language to help create a deeper connection and build on your relationship with them. As you work with them, this will help with their focus and engagement.
All our training is tailored to the individual dog. From basic obedience to advanced behaviour, we can teach you how to help your dog be happier, calmer and more responsive in various environments. The training package will enable you to learn and gain skills in the basics of training by incorporating various protocols, handling methods as well as using clear communication, relevant markers and rewards that suit you and your dog.
The 1:1 sessions are ideal if you want to focus and achieve success in specific areas of your dog’s training away from a class environment that may not suit every dog or handler.
The training package can be designed to help you with a variety of training goals, including but not limited to the following:
- Back to basics and foundations
- Handling skills and lead work
- Recall work
- General obedience
By the end of the package you will have learnt fun new ways of training, engaging and bonding with your dog.
How It All Works and Package Content
In the first instance, please contact Susan by emailing susan@tail-talk.co.uk, using the ‘Contact Us’ form and selecting ‘FREE consultation call’, or by calling 07896 814476. After our initial phone conversation, we will book you in for the first of your four in-person sessions.
Immediately upon receiving confirmation of your booking, either a £50 deposit must be made (where there are more than 14 days between your booking confirmation date and your first appointment date), or full payment is due.

First Session
We will talk through your dog’s training and what your goals are with them. We can then meet your dog in their own environment and observe them for part of our visit if this suits you. We will leave you with some strategies for you to get going with as a starting point.
The balance of the package is payable before or at this visit.
Remaining Sessions
This is where we work through the practical training. We will set up the best environment for your dog to learn, and look at how to help your dog be successful. We will demonstrate the training with your dog if it is suitable to do so. We will then guide and coach you while you work with them yourself. We recommend sessions to be every three weeks, as this gives you time to put suggestions in place before progressing training at your next lesson.
We will send a short action plan after each session, tailored to your individual needs. Handouts and videos to go alongside your plan will also be provided if needed. Feedback on your training will be given in-between sessions to keep you on track using either WhatsApp videos, email, or by phone.
Follow-Up Sessions
These will be available to add onto your personalised package if needed and/or when you feel you would like more in-person support.
For four weeks after this, further support is provided either by phone or video assessment so that we can discuss your progress. We want to ensure that you are happy with how everything is going. After this four-week period, we will have a further phone call to discuss progress and if any other in-person sessions are required.
The package must be completed within a 3 month period. Sessions not taken within this time will be lost.

Costs & Services Included
Training Support Package
Dogs 5 months and over
- Initial monthly package £180.00
- 4 x 60 minute in-person sessions
- Notes and short training plan after each session
- Feedback on your training between sessions
Travel costs apply 5 miles after Nairn – 50p/mile return for each home visit.
If required, follow up sessions after your initial package are £40.00 per hour plus travel costs if applicable.
If there is more than one dog to work with, there will be additional costs added to your package.
We are happy to carry out home visits within the area outlined on our Contact Us page (please click here to go to the map). This encompasses a region between Tornagrain and Lossiemouth. You can also bring your dog to us in Nairn if you live outwith this area.
