I know how difficult it can be to live with our dogs when their behaviour is impacting our relationship with them. I have experienced this myself with my own dogs and dogs that I have helped, not only with tail talk over the years but as a dog welfare manager of a large dog rescue centre.
It can be upsetting, challenging, stressful and bring tension to daily life, however with help and support the relationship can grow and you will start to enjoy your dog more.
If you need help now, then you are in the right place. We will work together so you understand them better and help to teach them more of the behaviours you would like to see.
How it all works
Training and Behaviour - Package Content
After our initial conversation on the phone we will send you the form to complete about your dog, and will book in the first in person session.
The first in person session - I will talk through your dog's training and behaviour and what your goals are with them. I can then meet your dog and observe them for part of my visit in their own environment if this suits the individual I am working with. I will leave you with some strategies for you to get going with as a starting point.
The next session - is working through the practical training setting up the best environment for your dog to learn, we will then look at how to help your dog learn by training new behaviours or helping them with things they are finding hard to live with. I will demonstrate the training if it is suitable to do so with your dog and then guide and coach you while you work with them yourself with me there. I recommend the sessions to be every three weeks, this gives you time to put suggestions in place before we then progress the training at your next lesson. I will send a short action plan after each session tailored to your individual needs. Handouts/videos to go alongside your plan if needed. Feedback on your training in between sessions to keep you on track using either WhatsApp videos, email, or on the phone.
Follow-up sessions will be available to add onto your personalised package if needed and when you feel you would like more in-person support. We keep in touch throughout the initial package, and then for four weeks after this by phone or video assessment support to discuss your progress, so that you are happy with how it is all going.
After this four-week period, we will then have a phone call to discuss progress and if any other in person sessions are needed.
